Q. What would I need an online database for?
A. We'll start with something simple. Let's say you need to take a survey from 5,000 people. You could have a form printed up, and use the post office to "snail mail" it to all 5,000 people. As a general rule, you would normally include a postage-paid return envelope. How much do you think all that would cost? It woudn't be cheap, you know that. On the other hand, we could build you a simple survey form for about $100.00, and make it accessible on the internet. You simply notify the 5,000 people of the survey web address, and they fill it out online. Once they hit the "Submit" button, you have your information seconds later. We can even provide an "up-to-the-minute" results page, which would let you know how the questions were being answered in real time. You would pay our monthly hosting fee of $19.95, until the survey ended. One month, two months, three months, whatever it took to get the answers you needed. Simple huh? No paper, no printing, no mailing, and you can print out a copy of the results. When the survey ends, you terminate the hosting with no cancellation fees. Or in the case of the Disc Jockey company cited in the examples page, you may need to display data to people for a reason. Ball club scores, products & services lists, missing animals, etc. The possibilities are endless. And the best part is that you do not have to own any equipment at all, you simply need an internet connection to see, modify or update your data.
